JESSE SPEARS: THE MAKING OF A MODERN CREATOR
Fashion as a Starting Point
INTERVIEW BY: EMILY ARAUZA
DEC 11th, 2025
Jesse Spears, known online as fitsofjesse, is part of a new generation of creators growing in public. His fashion content feels instinctive rather than curated, shaped by consistency, curiosity, and a willingness to evolve in real time. What began as an interest in personal style has expanded into something more fluid, blending everyday moments with self expression. In this conversation, Spears reflects on finding his voice online, posting daily, and allowing his future to unfold naturally.
Jesse Spears: “I’m fitsofjesse. My real name is Jesse Spears. I’ve been posting fashion content for almost 2 years now on TikTok and Instagram. I’ve only been posting for a little less than a year.”
Emily Arauza: “Okay, perfect. What made you want to start posting fashion content in the first place?”
J: “Well, ever since I was a young kid, I’ve always been a relatively outgoing person, and I watched a lot of YouTube growing up. I always wanted to be a content creator, and people I knew always told me I should be one. Around sophomore and junior year of high school, I started consuming a bunch of fashion content and I started getting into fashion, until one day I thought I should finally start posting online like I’ve been wanting to my whole life.”
E: “Aww, I love that. You can really tell this has always been something you were meant to do. So now that you’ve actually been taking it seriously, how old are you now? And where do you want to go with all of this? Like, what’s the bigger picture for you?”
J: “I’m only 18 years old, and to be honest, I don’t know much of the future. But obviously, I want to eventually start doing longer form content. I definitely am going to start a clothing brand probably early 2026, and I’ve always been a theatre kid, so if I somehow, some way, can end up in a TV show or movie, that would be my dream. So the bigger picture is I don’t know, and only time will tell everything.”
E: “That’s so exciting. You already have a lot going on and some really big goals. Who would you say has been your biggest inspiration in fashion or content creation?”
J: “I don’t have much fashion inspiration. I take it from so many things, but it’s hard to pinpoint. But as inspiration for content creators, when I was in elementary and just a young kid, Jake Paul and Logan Paul were just coming up, and they were posting vlogs every day, so that kind of inspired me when I was younger, and I tend to post pretty much every day now.”
E: “Haha, that makes sense. I was the same. I was a Jake Pauler when I was younger. Do you still draw from that kind of daily vlog energy in the content you make now? And do you feel like posting every day has shaped your style or the way you approach content?”
J: “At first, when I first started, not really. I was kind of calm in my videos, but throughout, I’ve gotten more outgoing, and I’ve been doing a bunch of like 2-minute vlogs too recently, and those are a lot of fun. I personally think so. When I first started, I posted maybe twice a week, but then when I realized how much I loved posting, I realized I needed to do it every day. When I started posting every day, I started gaining more traction.”
E: “That’s really cool. It sounds like posting every day really helped you find your groove. How do you come up with ideas for your vlogs and keep them fresh while posting so often?”
J: “A lot of these vlogs are like ‘come shopping with me,’ which is fashion based, or I just explore certain things, but I keep them fresh with the editing and the voiceovers I use. They’re very, very fun to make.”
E: “So are you a YouTuber as well, or is this all just on TikTok and Instagram?”
J: “No, no. It’s just short like 2-minute videos on TikTok and Instagram.”
E: “Do you think you’d expand to YouTube at some point in time, or would you rather keep it to short videos like reels, etc.?”
J: “I mean, yeah. Eventually I’d love to start a YouTube. It’s not much of a ‘would I rather do reels’ type of thing. It’s more or less helping me gain experience for when I do long form stuff.”
E: “Got you. So when you eventually start YouTube, do you see yourself making videos similar to what you post now, or would it be a different type of content?”
J: “I honestly don’t fully know what exactly I want to post on YouTube because I watch so many types of YouTubers, so I don’t know. Maybe fashion content, but probably not. Probably just like lifestyle type stuff.”
E: “You kind of have the freedom to build whatever lane feels right in the moment. If you could design your dream YouTube era, like the version of you people would binge watch, what would that look like? Cool lifestyle stuff, behind the scenes of your life, meeting people in the fashion scene?”
J: “I think all the above. I live a pretty eventful life, and so I’d show my life as is, and I’d like to think people would like that because that’s something I’d watch.”
E: “I love that. People love creators who let them into their real life. What’s one thing about your day to day that you think people would be surprised by or actually obsessed with if they saw it on camera?”
J: “I can actually kind of sing a little bit. I can sing opera, and I yodel, and I can sing normal too kind of well. I’ve been debating just doing a quick singing video.”
E: “I’d actually never expect that. Do you see yourself doing more multifaceted content like that, or sticking strictly to fashion?”
J: “I’m not opposed to it, but for now, I’m just doing fashion content. I definitely want to start doing other videos to grow and widen my audience even more.”
E: “That makes sense, starting with fashion but leaving room to branch out. Is there any advice or mindset you’ve followed that’s really helped you get to where you are now?”
J: “I’d say being yourself and everything is possible. Being yourself is so important, especially in this day and age, because content creation has tons of competition nowadays, and people don’t want the same thing from different people. Anything is possible also goes with the mindset ‘you only live once,’ because it’s very true. Life happens so fast, and death can come so quickly, so why not live your life to the fullest and try to achieve your dreams you’ve been wanting.”
